If you've been following along I've spent several weekends exploring some of the amazing sights here in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. As the year winds down I thought it would be a good time to share some of my favorites.
There are a lot of reasons to go to Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The views are awesome with a spectacularly clear night sky. Oh, and you could get rich. According to OnlyInYourState.com, there is lost treasure located somewhere near the north rim.
There will be a supermoon eclipse unlike anything you've probably seen in your lifetime happening Sunday night. We live in an area with amazing sky views, but there are a few standouts you may want to consider for the supermoon.
We all know that the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a wondrous place. The rest of the world is now waking up and finally discovering our secret. Congrats are in order as the Dark Sky Organization has now bestowed special recognition on Black Canyon as an International Dark Sky Destination.
Since we arrived back on the Western Slope, my wife has been wearing out our camera as we revisit many of our favorite scenic locations around the area. Over the 4th of July weekend, we drove up to Grand Mesa and then on down to Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
