Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson has had more than his share of troubles this season. The NFL star, who remains suspended, decided to chime in on Twitter on a grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the Michael Brown shooting.

Amidst growing public pressure, the Minnesota Vikings have changed course and deactivated Adrian Peterson, placing him on the exempt/commissioner's permission list and making him unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child by a Montgomery County, Texas grand jury. The case stems from an incident where Peterson used a switch to discipline the child involved.

Adrian Peterson's two-year-old son has died from the injuries allegedly suffered at the hand of 27-year-old Joseph Patterson.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m. ET: TMZ reports the boy is on life support with no brain activity since 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Sources say that if the child fails to show any signs of improvement over the course of the next 24 hours his mother wants to take him off of life support and donate his organs.

Last season Adrian Peterson came up just nine yards short of breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season record of 2,105 yards. It was the second highest rushing total ever in the history of the league and he became only the second player (Earl Campbell in 1980) to rush for more than 150 yards in seven games during a season. That won Peterson the league MVP.
