This Sunday get yourself into a Halloween state of mind with a cemetery tour.

Join the Museum of the West Curator of Collections & Archives Erin Schmitz and local historian Marie Tipping, as they guide you through some of the oldest and scariest Grand Junction cemeteries. The tour starts at the Whitewater Cemetery. I've not been there but apparently, it looks like its right out of the old west. Next, the tour visits the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. It too is one of the area's oldest. There you'll learn more about some of Grand Junction's more famous former residents including George Crawford and Walter Walker.

It sounds like quite the adventure. I mean what's Halloween without a visit to a local cemetery or a mortuary or two. If you can't take the Museum of the West's formal tour visit on your own time. Perhaps late at night? If the Whitewater Cemetery is as it's described, a late night visit this weekend should get you in a Halloween state of mind.
