Still Time to Take Advantage of Today’s Free National Park Day

It may be Saturday afternoon but there's still time to slip over to The Colorado National Monument and check it out for free. Today is National Public Lands Day, one of the 5 days this year where the National Parks offer free admission.

Maybe you've got some family in town for the Fruita Fall Festival. Or perhaps it's been awhile since you've made the drive through The Monument. Whatever the reason, the price is right today. Free admission to all The National Parks and it so happens that we've got a cool one right on the edge of town.

It's a cool early fall day. That may be reason enough. Today was my third trip around the loop. This time, I had some extra time to stop at the Saddlehorn Visitor's Center and learn more about the Monument.

If you can't make it today.  The next free day is Veteran's Day Friday, November 11th. If you're fortunate enough to have that day off, perhaps you can take a road trip and visit a National Park. The Monument Rocks!
