An image has been captured by French astrophotographer Theirry Legault proving beyond the shadow of doubt the legendary starship U.S.S. Enterprise has traveled back in time and is orbit around Earth's moon. That's the good news. The bad news is, it may not be the Enterprise, but rather an Imperial Tie Fighter. This raises two questions: 1) What is an astrophotographer, and 2) What does this mean to the people of Earth?

Let's take care of the part we can actually answer. According to Dictionary.com, astrophotography is the photography of celestial bodies used in astronomy. That makes sense.

Now let's address the second question, is that the U.S.S. Enterprise? The actor who played the Helmsman of the Enterprise, George Takei, thinks so. Takei posted on his Facebook page, "My goodness, from this angle it looks like a certain starship I once flew."

Looking at the other view, the image looks as though the vessel is an Imperial Tie Fighter. Not the cool one like Darth Vader had, just a common Tie Fighter like the normal guys flew.

It's in your hands. Is this an actual image of the original U.S.S. Enterprise, or is it just a Tie Fighter? Of course, there is the option behind Door #3..... is it just a picture of something else in space? Vote in our online poll.
