A brief standoff with local law enforcement in Clifton this afternoon (September 6) ended with the arrest of a man with multiple warrants.

The standoff started when Deputies from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office went to a residence in the 3200 block of Bunting Avenue to serve the occupant, 30-year-old Brian Doyle, warrants from both Mesa and Summit Counties.

The SWAT Team was notified and asked to assist, but deputies reportedly had Doyle in custody when the team arrived.

As a precaution, calls were made to residents in the neighborhood to shelter-in-place which was lifted once Doyle was in custody. Charges, in addition to those in the warrants, are pending.
