The Sports Authority logos and signs are coming down within the next few days. I've never been a fan of licensing the names of venues. We all understand why it's done. It's all about the money but the deal at Mile High seemed especially odd since the sponsor was no longer a functioning business.

The Denver Broncos had hoped to lock down a new sponsor for the start of the 2017 season. That obviously didn't happen. We'll see who signs up for the 2018 campaign. I know many of you were hopeful that the stadium name would stay simply remain being called "Mile High". I understand. I can't imagine the home of The Kansas City Chiefs being called anything other than "Arrowhead." However, the Broncos are adamant about finding a new partner and plan to name a new sponsor soon. That revenue helps to fund the stadium maintenance and upkeep requirements.

But for now, it's no longer Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Simply "Mile High." That's got a nice ring to it don't you think?
