Soundgarden are set to join their hometown Seattle Seahawks as the Super Bowl champs kick off the new football season. Opening day will feature a trio of performers, with Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande also set to join the musical extravaganza tied to the game.

The Seahawks' game against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 4 will actually kick off the NFL's 95th season. Doors to CenturyLink Field's North Plaza will open at 2:30PM PT, with Soundgarden set to open the festivities during a 60-minute pre-game show that will air from 4:30-5:30PM PT on NBC and NFL Network. Williams will also be part of the musical celebration, while inside CenturyLink Field, Ariana Grande will sing the National Anthem.

The Seahawks organization put together their own Spotify playlist showcasing each of the three acts, choosing Soundgarden's 'Black Hole Sun,' 'Spoonman,' 'Fell on Black Days,' 'Rusty Cage,' 'Burden in My Hand' and 'Pretty Noose' to represent the band. The Spotify playlist can be found at this location.

Soundgarden have been spending their summer on tour with Nine Inch Nails while celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 'Superunknown' album. The band's remaining tour dates can be found here.
