While many fans have been patiently awaiting the promise of new Soundgarden tunes as the band keeps an air of suspense surrounding their upcoming reunion album, the wait may finally be over. Rumor has it the reunited band’s first official single from the new disc will impact radio next week, with the tune aptly titled ‘Been Away Too Long' -- isn't that the truth!

Their new studio album ‘King Animal’ is due out by the end of the year with a reported release date of Nov. 13, according to a listing in Rolling Stone magazine.

The band also recently launched a new website and offered up a little audio snippet of new song called ‘Worse Dreams.’ It’s only 36-second long but packs a lot of punch. Other song titles like 'Blood on the Valley Floor' and 'A Thousand Days Before' have been revealed, but not yet heard.

‘King Animal’ will mark the band’s first full-length studio album since 1996's 'Down on the Upside,' and according to Thayil, "It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.”

According to an industry insider (via Blabbermouth), the band is also in the thick of acquiring a new recording contract, signing a worldwide deal with Universal Music Group.

Although the band has been quite elusive regarding their future plans, fans are banking on hearing and seeing a lot more of Soundgarden in 2013.
