Slipknot are bringing back their Knotfest music event in 2014, but taking a page out of Ozzfest's book, Slipknot will be staging the fest in Japan. Slipknot were actually part of last year's one-off Ozzfest performance in Japan and will now deliver their very own festival to the country on Nov. 15 and 16.

The band has secured the Makuhari Messe convention center in Tokyo to stage the event, but the lineup is still taking shape. In 2012, the band held their inaugural Knotfest in the U.S. with Deftones, Lamb of God, Machine Head and many more taking part.

In a video promo teasing the Japan-based Knotfest, percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan states that the group will bring many special guests to the shows. Additionally, Crahan makes a point that a good number of Japanese bands will be playing the Knotfest weekend. "This is a culture thing, an important thing, so I hope you're ready for what's next," explains Crahan.

Slipknot have been in the studio working on new music since the sudden departure of drummer Joey Jordison in late 2013. Stay tuned for more info on Slipknot's next album as news breaks.
