The Colorado State Patrol have released a statement regarding a call to a C and F store in Clifton Sunday Afternoon:

Shortly before noon, a Colorado State Patrol Trooper and the Mesa County deputies responded to a reported disturbance at the C and F gas
station in Clifton.  They encountered 40-year-old Jeromy Nation of Eckert, who ignored officers' orders to stop, instead fleeing northbound at a high rate of speed on 32 1/8 Road.

Shortly thereafter, while attempting to turn left onto westbound E Road, Nation lost control of his 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and crashed.  Officers arrested him at the crash scene.  Nation was not
wearing protective equipment at the time of the crash, but he sustained only minor injuries.  He was transported to the Mesa County jail after being cleared by medical personnel.

Nation faces charges of vehicular eluding (pursuant to reckless driving) and introducing contraband (dangerous instrument)--both felonies--as well as six misdemeanor charges related to firearms, bail
bond, and DUI violations.

Alcohol and/or drug use as well as excessive speed are being investigated as contributing factors in the initial incident and ensuing crash.

No further information is available at this time.

We will update this story if any further news is released.
