Wanted sex offender is now in custody after brief car chase, crashing into three and police cruiser.

Wanted sex offender Lance Dylan Worrall is now in custody after deputies with the Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Units saw a suspicious believed to be connected with Worrallon North Ave.

Officers followed the vechicle to Candlewood Mobile Home park in the vicinity of D and 32 Rd in Clifton.

After making attempts to pull Worrall over, he sped off in his car, smashing into three vehicles before crashing heads-on into a GJPD squad car. Worrall may have intentionally hit the officer's car.

Worrall then continued to a nearby neighborhood where he jumped out of the car running through yards, and jumping fences. A Mesa County Sheriff’s deputy was able to apprehend Worrall.

33-year-old Andrea Cordova, who was also in the car, took off running when the car stopped. A neighbor assisted in taking her into custody. Cordova was in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested.

Worrall was transported to the hospital for injuries to his hands and feet. Once released, he will be booked into the Mesa County jail.

He’s facing charges of resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, felony criminal mischief, attempted 2nd degree assault on peace officer, and vehicular eluding.

No officers, deputies, or bystanders were injured in this incident.
