Red Mountain Pass to Close Weekdays Through October

Red Mountain Pass is both beautiful and dangerous. And, if it's a part of your regular travels, be aware that work is about to begin weekdays that will severely limit travel through that area.

CDOT has announced that starting September 8 through October 8, Red Mountain Pass will be closed from 8:30 am until noon. Then, it will be open for one hour from noon until 1 pm. After that, it's closed again from 1 pm until 5 pm. Since this is Colorado, there is always the possibility that weather could extend the closure further into October.
