I ran out to the Olathe this morning for the 14th Annual Punkin Chunkin Festival. The event was a fundraiser for the Olathe Volentree Fire Department. A large crowd was on hand to take in the sceptical.

The event takes place each year behind DeVries Produce, between mile markers 85 and 86 on HWY 50. Everyone in attendance was enjoying the show. There was live music, corn maze, pumpkin patch, vendors, and more.

The star (no pun intended) of the show was the Death Star from Boulder, CO. That machine could launch a pumpkin several thousand feet! There was competition for distance and accuracy. I captured some great video of the flying punkins launched from all the contraptions. I'll have that for posted for you next week! For now, check out these great pictures.

Fly'n punkins rock! Happy Halloween everyone!
