Pueblo’s Eagle Days Celebrates 20th Anniversary
While the non-skiing Coloradoans are patiently waiting for spring's arrival, the folks in Pueblo are gearing up for Eagle Days, the 20th anniversary of their winter festival.
Lake Pueblo State Park will host the three-day festival February 5-7 with the opportunity for attendees to see live birds of prey up close, presentations, a photo contest, and plenty of crafts and activities for kids.
One of the highlights of Pueblo Eagle Days this year will be the release of rehabilitated birds of prey being released back into the wild. Among the planned activities is a driving eagle tour, and a falcon flight demonstration by the Air Force Academy mascot.
There will actually be three different locations hosting events during the festival, so you can check the events schedule to see exactly what is happening, when, and where.
With any luck, you will get to see some bald eagles in flight or in nest, as these beautiful birds enjoy the winter at Lake Pueblo. Be sure and take your camera!
