Sunset Magazine names Estes Park "Best Mountain Town."

If you're like me and had a list of "places to go and things to do this summer" and didn't get to do much of it, you may want to just do this, visit Colorado's "Best Mountain Town." That's according to Sunset Magazine.

If you're not familiar, Sunset is the self-proclaimed "premier resource for achieving the ultimate Western lifestyle. Our experts focus on travel destinations in the 13 Western states, home design and outdoor living ideas suited to our region, and recipes and menus that celebrate the West."

I made it to Estes Park last fall. It's a beautiful place! Colorado's quintessential mountain town and gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Sunset's editors say Estes Park and its "full roster of outdoor activities (fly fishing! camping! hiking!)", proximity to one of America's most popular national parks, and the ease of access, make it their #1 choice.

I can't disagree. And my apologies to my friends in Telluride. Most of you know I love that place. I've made my way to that mountain town more than any other. They have the most music festivals there and that's probably why.
