Today the NHL announced the men who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year and Peter Forsberg is on that list. He is joined by some pretty big names making this one of the best classes is recent years to go into the hall.

Referee Bill McCreary, Coach Pat Burns and players Rob Blake, Mike Modano and Dominik Hasek, will join Forsberg. This is a great class and all these men disserve to be in the hall.

Forsberg is a national hero in Sweden and was commemorated on a postage stamp for his shootout goal to help Sweden win the gold medal at the Lillehammer games in 1994.

Forsberg, went on to win rookie of the year, the Hart Trophy in 2003 and the Stanley Cup twice with the Colorado Avalanche.

Forsberg was a great player and belongs in the hall, it’s just a shame that his career was cut short by injuries.
