Ready or not, it's that time of year. The holidays are rapidly approaching. Is it really that time of year? In Junction, the downtown tree lighting officially marks the start of the season.

The corner of 4th and Main is ground zero for the festivities. Downtown is already getting prepped and ready. Storefronts are decorated for the season.

Perhaps today's cooler weather will help me get in the spirit. I was wearing shorts untill today. Snow flurries are my cue to break out the jeans. Friday's official forecast will feel more like it...Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 45. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

The Palisade High School choir gets the party started. Rumor has it the Big Guy himself will make an appearance and with a magical wave of his hand from the rooftop of the Wells Fargo building, Santa lights not only the tree at 4th and Main but all the lights along Main Street. After that trick, Santa then sits down and visits with the kids before returning to the North Pole.

I'll be there. I'm still not sure I'm quite ready. Thanksgiving is a week away. But I'll do my best to get into the groove and start, kinda, thinking about Christmas.  Happy Holidays everyone!
