One or more crooks made the decision to take power tools used by youth involved in the Partners Western Colorado Conservation Corps, limiting their ability to continue their community work.

The Grand Junction Police Department says the theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. June 26 and 6:30 p.m. June 28. During this time, suspects broke into a trailer owned by Partners stored at 2818 1/2 North Avenue.

After the break-in, the suspects stole two Stihl chainsaws with 20-inch bars. One chainsaw was engraved with S8 and the other S9.

The thieves also took a two-part Dolmar oil/gas can and an ammo toolbox with chainsaw parts and supplies. The items stolen are estimated to be worth approximately $1,800.
