Now that Thanksgiving is over and we’re officially into December, it’s time once again to switch gears into the Christmas season. The one event that helps kick the Christmas season into high gear is the Parade of Lights. With that in mind, here’s a list of festive parades scheduled in Western Colorado:

    Meeker Parade of Lights

    Downtown Meeker

    Information: call Meeker Chamber of Commerce at 970-878-5510

    Parade theme is “Merry Meeker Lights.” The festivities will begin at 5:30pm Friday in Downtown Meeker with the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Elementary School Choir, Color Guard, and then the parade. Fireworks will follow.

    Delta Parade of Lights

    Main Street in Delta (from 9th Street to 3rd Street)

    Delta Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Delta's Parade of Lights, which starts at 6:00 p.m. Friday. Parade theme is “Miracle on Main Street.”

    Palisade's Parade of Lights

    Downtown Palisade

    Palisade’s Parade of Lights is part of the “Olde Fashioned Christmas” in Downtown Palisade. Parade will start at the new Firehouse and end at Third & Main Street.

    30TH Annual Parade of Lights takes place on Main Street in Grand Junction at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7TH. Sorter Construction and the Downtown Partnership is presenting the parade. Theme is “Christmas Wishes.”
