Oktoberfest in Grand Junction:German Food, Beer, Music + Wieners

Oktoberfest 2013 is  happening this Saturday in downtown Grand Junction. Like Fruita Fall Festival last weekend, this is one of those events that reminds us that Fall is here, and makes us happy about it.Oktoberfest  takes place on Colorado Avenue in downtown Grand Junction, between the 500 and 700 blocks. If you are walking down Main Street and you don't see anything going on, it's because the event is one block over.

This is a fun event that offers German food, beer, and music, but a whole lot more.

There will be a marching band parade, all kinds of vendors, live music, stuff for kids, and of course, the 6th annual Wiener Dog Races. It's not to late to register your wiener dog for the competition. If you aren't racing, you should come down and watch the races beginning at 1:30.

It looks like the weather will be a bit cooler than what it's been, so slip on a jacket and enjoy Oktoberfest from 10am-10pm.
