I checked off my list one of the things I've wanted to do since moving here. I had my first Big Horn Sheep sighting.

Not my first ever. I've traveled through this part of the country several times before. I've hunted the front range, so I've seen Big Horn, Antelope, Elk, Mule deer, and other western wild critters. This was my first since becoming a resident.

I was making a sunset drive through the Monument when I rounded a corner and there they were. It's obvious that the traffic is a way of life for these nearly domesticated sheep. However, that didn't make spotting them in the wild any less cool.

The way they easily cruise down the cliffs and negotiate the terrain is amazing. They can navigate with ease what would kill you or me.

Again, I'm certain this is fairly "ho-hum" for you locals but it made my evening. Just one more thing I'm learning to love about living here.
