This motorist was going so fast the pursuing state troopers were unable to get the license plate. What is known is the vehicle was an older-model, dark-colored Mustang.

Where precisely on I-70 did this occur? According to the Denver Post, the motorist hit 140 mph about 10 miles west of Glenwood Springs. If you've driven this stretch before, then you know this is the area where speed limits are reduced on account of the twists and curves.

Patrol officers hit their lights, and rather than stopping, the motorist took off and accelerated to 150 mph. As if not already dangerous enough, these events went down in the dark at 12:30 this morning.

So, what does it look like when sitting in the driver's seat of a Mustang doing 150 mph? Take a look. Keep in mind, this motorist is gong down a straight road in daylight.

If you're old like me, you can remember a time when the speed limit on I-70 between Grand Junction and Glenwood was 55 mph. We all jumped for joy when they bumped it up to 65. Most of had never gone that fast before.

Neither the Bandit nor the Duke boys can navigate the canyon for long at 150 mph. Take it easy out there. Whoever this person was, they were putting themselves, authorities, and other motorists in harms way. If you have any idea who this motorist might be, please contact the authorities.
