Motorhead were forced to cancel their Salt Lake City, Utah, performance last night (Aug. 27) after Lemmy Kilmister experienced health concerns. After playing just a few songs, Motorhead left the stage and unfortunately, did not return.

Reports state that Lemmy told the crowd he was having trouble breathing and/or was experiencing severe back pain before cutting the gig short. However, in an official statement posted on Motorhead's Facebook page, the band reveals breathing problems to be the concern which ended the show. "The people are great, but the air is just too thin," reads the post. "The high altitude makes it difficult for breathing, and that’s what happened with Lemmy tonight in Salt Lake City. He feels very bad to have cut the show short, but being that high up, he had some trouble breathing well. Lemmy appreciates everyone’s concern. The fans always rally round!"

This event mirrors Motorhead's truncated performance at Wacken 2013, where the legendary band left the stage after playing six songs. Earlier that year, Lemmy experienced further health scares leading to a defibrillator being implanted into his chest. He also suffered from a hematoma.

As of now, Motorhead are marching on, having canceled no further shows as of this posting. The band's 22nd studio album, Bad Magic, is out today, so pick it up!
