When you think of the phrase 'so much to do and so little time,' it usually deals with work. Montrose Youth Appreciation Day may have you saying the same thing, except in a fun way.

Youth Appreciation Day is Saturday, August 13 and the event has so many kid-friendly activities you may not be able to do them all, but it will be fun to try.

Every activity at Youth Appreciation Day is free for children. Adults will have to pay a nominal fee for a few of activities.

The day's activities start at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Montrose Elks Club and wraps up with an outdoor movie from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Grace Community Church.

In between there is a day full activities including;

  • Climbing Wall
  • Kiddie Carnival
  • Dance Workshop
  • Watermelon Feast
  • Touch a Truck
  • Swimming
  • Mini Golf
  • Museum Tours
  • Rec Fest - incredible recreational activities at Ute Park

That's only some of the things planned for this enormous citywide event that is all about kids, recreation, and fun.

There will also be plenty of food and beverages available at various locations where the activities are held.

A list of all the activities and locations is available from the Montrose Recreation District.
