Metallica Breaks Ties With Warner Music Group

In 1994 Metallica signed a very lucrative deal with Warner Music Group, Friday November 30^th that deal ended. Part of the deal with Warner stated that Metallica would exclusively own all of their recordings, all music videos and long from videos at the end of that deal. That has happened and Metallica is now in control of everything Metallica.  According to a statement from Metallica there is no ill will against Warner Music Group, this is about creative control of what happens with the Metallica catalog from here forth.

Metallica has now started Blackened Recordings, the band’s own record label. Blackened Recordings will now be the home for everything Metallica, and will handle all marketing and promotion duties. On December 11^th Metallica release the new concert videos “Magnetic” the first for Blackened Recordings and just in time for Christmas Metallica fans.
