Mesa County now offers 911 Community Alerts. The Grand Junction Regional Communication Center will notify you if something is an imminent threat to life or property in your area. You can get notifications via your cell phone, home email, work email, or by text. You can also sign up for multiple locations like home, work, your school, your child's school and even your parent's home. It is really easy to do, all you need to do is sign up here. Best of all, the service is free and confidential. If your information changes, you can update or cancel the service at any time.

Once you are signed up you can choose what you want to be alerted about, and where. You must sign up separately for each location that you want to be notified for. Some of the notification choices include: school closures, fires, gas leaks, or critical police activities. You must sign up via the web but if you don't have a computer, head to any library branch to use their computers.

The Grand Junction Regional Communications Center receives all 911 calls in Mesa county and dispatches 19 police, fire and emergency medical agencies. For more information click here.
