For those who have followed the plight of the CMU Women's basketball team this season, it comes as no surprise. With one week left in the regular season, the Mavericks have clinched the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title.

Behind Kelsey Sigl's third consecutive double double, 26 points and 13 rebounds, the Mavericks defeated Western State Colorado University on Saturday 86-48 to claim their first conference title since the 2001-2002 season. Head Coach Taylor Wagner is in his first season with the Mavericks.

The 4th-ranked Mavericks(23-1, 19-1 RMAC) won their first 20 games of the season before bowing to Colorado Christian. The Mavericks currently own the #1 seed in the South Central Region and will play at home on Tuesday, March 5th in the first round of the RMAC Shootout. If the Mavericks win, they will host the rest of the tournament at Brownson Arena.

The Mavericks close out the regular season this weekend at home against Adams Sate and Fort Lewis.
