Man to Jump From 23 Miles High Today (10/9)
No He's not high but he'll jump from higher than anyone has jumped before!
Felix Baumgartner is the Skydiver attempting the highest, fastest free fall in history from 23 miles up.
To put that into perceptive for those of us that can't visualize 23 miles, that's more than three times the average cruising altitude for passenger jets!
The 43-year-old will be jumping in a pressurized spacesuit into the stratosphere over New Mexico.
Baumgartner an Austrian military parachutist and extreme athlete hopes to also become the first person to break the sound barrier outside of an airplane! I just hope he doesn't break!
Red Bull is sponsoring the jump, and the event will be streamed live with a 20-second delay in case of a tragic accident.
