Look Back at Fruita’s ‘3rd of July’ Fireworks of Yesteryear [VIDEO]

A longstanding tradition, Fruita's 3rd of July Fireworks, returns today to Western Colorado. For those who've lived in the Valley for a while, you know this event has been going on since before dirt. To prove it, enjoy a few photos from Daily Sentinel photographer Robert Grant from Fruita's 3rd of July Fireworks of yesteryear.

As you will no doubt notice, most of the shots were taken with the shutter left open for a duration of time. One photo has shots of sparklers superimposed on another shot of spectators watching the fireworks. Keep in mind, these were taken long before the days of digital editing.
