Light the Yule Log – Health Department Lifts Burn Restrictions

Wood burning restrictions put in place last week have been lifted. So, go ahead and light the fireplace and enjoy the warmth and relaxation you deserve.

The Mesa County Health Department lifted the restrictions on Monday (December 19) and so far, it looks like there will be no restrictions at least through Christmas.

That means people who have fireplaces and non-EPA approved woodstoves are able to use them Christmas weekend.

For those looking to upgrade their woodburning stove or refit their fireplace with an insert, the Mesa County Health Department has information about regulations and if there are any incentives available to help manage the cost of the upgrade to meet EPA standards.
