Crazy how things work out. I had just arrived here from working in Topeka (the band's hometown) at the heritage rock radio station V-100 when I got the word that Kansas was playing The Avalon Theatre Thursday night the 28th!

Kansas isn't like most classic rock bands touring today. First, they've got a new album "The Prelude Implicit" being released September 23rd. The band's first in over 16 years.  The fact that they feel the need to create 40 years after the band's breakthrough album "Leftoverture" shows their love and commitment to rock music.

More importantly, is that two original members are still in the band. That's not always the case. There are several classic rock bands out there playing shows every day that is the "band" in name only. Phil Ehart and Rich Williams have appeared on every Kansas album. Even though Phil's songwriting contributions to the group were rare, he co-wrote two of their biggest hits, "Point of Know Return" and  "Play The Game". Rich, the guitarist for the band, and has been with them since their 1974 self-titled debut album

Take it from a guy that just moved here from Kansas, and that's seen the band over a dozen times, you don't want to miss it. Get your tickets today at  https://monumentalevents.com
