It's Fat Tuesday! Where's the party at?

I've been to New Orleans a few times. I've been in The Big Easy during Mardi Gras a couple times too and let me tell you, there's not anything quite like it! The music, food, picnics, floats, parades, and outrageous costumes, it's amazing!

Having spent nearly three decades in radio and much of that in Missouri and Arkansas I've worked more than my share of gigs tossing beads and wearing silly hats. In some places the Mardi Gras celebrations rival that of St. Patrick's Day. I'm not sure why but St. Louis has one of the biggest Mardi Gras parades in the county.

My question is "Where's the party here?" It's Fat Tuesday! Does anyone care? The only event I could find was KAFM's event at The Mesa Theater. It's a Mardi Gras fundraiser for Grand Junction's community radio. The party's description is as follows..."We will showcase a 6-piece band for this one. Hope you can make it!" Alrighty then. Tickets are $10. Anyone know where I can find some beads?
