It appears to be a very long standing tradition here in Junction. The city cleanup program has been around since the turn of the century. While you're tossing out the junk why not take this time to help the Salvation Army?

I was wondering what the piles of trash were all about. As I walked through my downtown neighborhood I noticed nearly everyone had a pile of tree limbs, trash, old furniture, or junk on the curb.

Every year around this time Junction residences tosses out their unwanted stuff. North Avenue is the dividing line on when the city will pick up the stuff. If you live on the north side it started today, on the south side, it's April 17th.

While you're at it, why not take the clothes you don't wear anymore, that TV you're not using, older furniture, and household items you no longer use and donate them to the Salvation Army.

Funds from the sale of those items support The Salvation Army's Addition Recovery Program. This 6-month live-in recovery program helps persons right here in the Grand Valley get their lives back on track. It teaches life skills, self-worth, and helps guide those back to living fruitful lives.
