The holidays are a special time of the year. Make this year extra special by being a part of National Wreaths Across America Day December 17, 2016.

The third Saturday in December is "Wreaths Across America Day." Volunteers all over the country lay wreaths in honor of the men and women who served this country. The program began at Arlington National Cemetery 25 years ago and has grown to include Veteran Memorial Cemeteries across the country.

Wreaths across America estimates it will place more than a million wreaths this year.  If you want to volunteer or to donate a wreath, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org. What a great way for anyone to show their support. Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado here in Grand Junction will be part of the nationwide effort. The cemetery is located at 2830 Riverside Parkway just east of the Grand Junction Regional Center.

The story of Wreaths Across America can be seen on the site, www.fortloganhonor.com. It's an amazing story, narrated by Chris Wallace of FOX News Sunday, as he shares the mission of Wreaths Across America. Please take the time and consider giving, or volunteering, for this great cause.
