CDOT to close a section of I-70 in De Beque Canyon.

Heading to Denver this week? That's cool, just better make sure it's not on Wednesday. The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to completely shut down a section of I-70 in De Beque Canyon.

It's not road construction that's forcing the closures. CDOT is shutting down the interstate so crews can work on potential rockslides. Both east and westbound lanes of I-70 will be closed between the hours of 11 AM to 1 PM this Wednesday, August 22ed. The closed stretch is between MM47 near Island Acres State Park up to exit 62 at De Beque. There will also be periodic stops of traffic all this week as CDOT moves equipment into position. You can keep up with CDOT constriction and other projects on their interactive map by clicking HERE.
