The Colorado Department of Transportation reports Interstate-70 through Glenwood Canyon will be reopening on a limited basis.

CDOT reports the canyon will reopen in a pilot car operation beginning Sunday night (February 21) beginning at approximately 6:00 p.m.

The pilot car will operate alternating east and westbound traffic through the canyon until 9:00 a.m. Monday morning (February 22).

The canyon will be closed to traffic daily from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for additional rock mitigation until further notice.

CDOT expects delays of up to one hour during the times the pilot car is assisting traffic through the canyon.

Motorists traveling on I-70, who would normally travel through Glenwood Canyon, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. are asked to take alternate routes.
