It's a week-long appreciation for the boys (and ladies) in blue. Not just here in town. Law enforcement agencies throughout the Grand Valley will be coming together this week to celebrate Police Week.

Started by President John F. Kennedy, Police Week recognizes the service of those in our country who currently serve our communities. The week to is set aside to honor those that have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Here are a few of the events scheduled for this week. This evening it's the Fruita City Council Police Week Proclamation at 7 pm.

Tomorrow is the Grand Junction City Council Police Week Proclamation at 7 pm.

Friday at Long Family Memorial Park it's the "Touch-A-Truck" event with food trucks, Special Olympics Cross/Fit, Truck Pull Games and more. 5:30-7:30 pm. The Memorial Vigil 7:30 pm, The Torch Run 5K is at 8:30 pm.
