My family nearly clobbered a moose in our car on vacation last year. The road is one place you don't want to meet a moose. Despite that close encounter with Bullwinkle, my kids love moose. That's one reason we're excited about Moose Day that is happening on Saturday, July 25 on Grand Mesa from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Forest Service along with the Colorado Division of Wildlife will have all sorts of activities involving moose biology. There will even be a moose nature hike. It's not every day that you get to go on a moose nature hike. For more info, check out the Grand Mesa Visitor Center website.
