When looking for a delicious cup of coffee, where's the best place to go in Grand Junction? Everybody has their favorite. In order to save you a little footwork, here's a list of Grand Junction's best coffee houses according to Yelp!

Back in 1974, you would enjoy a cup of coffee at the Oasis on the corner of 4th and North Avenue. Back then it was coffee - no espresso, Caramel Brulée Latte, and no Peppermint Mocha. The had coffee. It was 25 cents, and the stained cups were bottomless.

The Oasis is long gone. It ultimately became a tanning salon, and now a cell phone repair shop or something similar. In its place, though, dozens of coffee shops have popped up around Grand Junction.

What factors distinguish one coffee house from another? There are several things to consider:

  • location
  • brands of coffee served
  • variety of drinks
  • cost
  • atmosphere
  • availability of seating
  • drive-thru

This is where Yelp! comes in. They post information based on customer reviews. According to their official page:

Yelp uses automated software to recommend the most helpful and reliable reviews for the Yelp community among the millions we get. The software looks at dozens of different signals, including various measures of quality, reliability, and activity on Yelp. The process has nothing to do with whether a business advertises on Yelp or not.

According to Yelp!, these are Grand Junction's ten finest:

Kiln Coffee Bar - 326 Main Street
Octopus Coffee - 759 Horizon Drive
Octopus Coffee - 443 N. 6th Street
Grand Junction Mountain Grind Coffee Company - 936 North Avenue
Copeka Coffee - 1012 N. 5th
Colorado Legacy Coffee - 1048 Independent
BestSlope Coffee Co - 129 N. Peach St
Roasted Espresso and Subs - 502 Colorado Avenue
Mountain Air Roasters - 507 30th Road
Traders Coffee & Tea - 2648 Patterson Road

I have to admit, there are at least two businesses on this list I've never heard of before. I'll have to check them out.

There you go, Grand Junction's (and Fruita's) 10 best coffee houses according to Yelp!. Personally, I'm excited to see that each of these, as far as I can tell anyway, are all locally owned small businesses. You'll notice there are no chains on the list. Please make a point to visit these fine local shops and treat yourself to a delicious cup of coffee.
