After five years in Grand Junction, Allen Unique Autos is closing its doors at the end of 2015.

According to The Business Times, the auto museum and events center will close following a private client booking on December 20. The limousine service has already ceased operation.

In a statement, Allen Unique Autos says the closure comes following a "change of heart' by owner Tammy Allen.

"With the loss of her beloved son, Landon, the focus of Tammy’s heart and efforts have been (understandably) redirected from AUA and its operation to Tammy’s family, faith and friends and supporting her mother’s battle with leukemia."

According to the statement, the management of AUA recommended the closing of AUA, and Miss Allen approved the recommendation.

The Allen Unique Autos Museum houses Allen's personal collection of classic and rare cars including a pair of Mustangs  customized for Sonny and Cher, and an ambulance believed to have transported the body of President John F. Kennedy following his assassination in 1963.

Allen's Unique Autos has been very involved in the community through the years including hosting the popular  Hot Summer Nights car show each summer. Allen Unique Autos will definitely be missed.
