Local ski lift manufacturer is having a banner year.

Last season's lack of snow was a problem for most of Colorado ski resorts. This year, hopes are high to bounce back. In the meantime, resorts across Colorado are upgrading their facilities and Leitner-Poma in Grand Junction has been the beneficiary.

"They had things they wanted to do for years, so boom, they're doing them," says Rick Spear, of Leitner-Poma. This Grand Junction manufacturer is busier than ever building ski lifts for Colorado resorts. “This is our best year in about 15 years," said Spear. They've been so busy they've added 10 additional employees.

Powderhorn announced recently that they have a new financial partner and operator. Word is they are planning several upgrades too. One is a new high-speed quad, but Leitner-Poma says they've not made any deals to manufacture them as of yet.

Regardless, Leitner-Poma continues to crank out lifts for Loveland, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, and Winter Park. Business is booming and if you're interested in working for a growing company, click HERE.
