The Grand Junction Police are investigating a bank robbery this morning at 29th and Patterson.

Police say the Bank of Colorado, next to Safeway on Patterson was held up at around 9:00 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 15).

A man reportedly walked up to a teller and demanded money. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect walked out.

School officials briefly put nearby schools in "shelter in place" as a precaution, but that was quickly lifted.

Police hope to release a description of the suspect soon and ask anyone with information about the robbery to call 911.
