I'm not great at guessing crowd sizes, so I won't attempt to say how many were in attendance, but from one end of downtown to the other the streets were packed for last night's Parade of Lights.

The cold didn't keep folks away. As the sun set the temps dropped into the low 20s. Many families braved the cold up to a couple hours before the 5p start to secure a prime viewing spot.

More than 100 lighted entries enchanted viewers. If you're not in the holiday spirit after yesterday evening, there may be little hope for you. The lighted floats made their way down Main Street as kids snatched up the candy treats beings tossed out from the floats and light adorned vehicles. It's truly a marquee family event. Last year the parade was awarded "Best of the West for Family Events" by the Daily Sentinel.

This year's theme was "Christmas on the Silver Screen."  I'm not sure if there were more
"The Polar Express" or "Elf" entries but there were several of both. Of course, "A Christmas Story" was a popular theme and was the movie of choice for us here at Townsquare Media. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We'll see you downtown again next year!
