Freddy's is celebrating National Frozen Custard Day!

National Frozen Custard Day is Wednesday, August 8, and Freddy’s is celebrating! On Wednesday, all Freddy’s guests will receive a single cone or dish for only $1!

I've shared before my love of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. I was honored to help open the first store here in Grand Junction over a year ago. In case you don't know the story of the franchise, it was started by two brothers who wanted to honor their father, Freddy, a veteran who earned both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star during his service in WW II. The first store was opened in Wichita, Kansas in 2002. I started working at a local Wichita rock radio station in 2004 and was fortunate enough to be part of the grand opening celebrations of the franchise's second and third stores in the area. Now, Freddy's are wildly successful with locations coast-to-coast including two here in Grand Junction.

Needless to say, I'll be stopping by Freddy's on Wednesday to snag my $1 frozen custard. Freddy’s custard sales that day will support the Kids in Need Foundation. For each single cone or dish sold, Freddy’s will donate 50¢ to Kids in Need. That organization's mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.

So stop by a Freddy’s on Wednesday, August 8th and enjoy some yummy frozen custard! The two local stores are at 2489 Hwy 6 & 50, and 737 Horizon Drive.
