Local parks and recreation departments have jobs available.

If you've got to work it might as well be fun, right? Working for local parks and recs departments sounds like my kind of summer job. Don't get me wrong, park lawncare and maintenance is hard work but being outside during the long summer days sounds appealing. My radio job is fun but I spend nearly every day in my office or the studio.

The city of Grand Junction needs to fill about 30 full-time seasonal positions. They report that applications for these jobs are down this year so if you need a summer job you're chances of getting hired are improved.

If you love sports or thinking about a career in the coaching or sports field, there are several summer jobs that would be perfect for you. Score-keeping or calling the balls and strikes for the adult softball season, lifeguarding, or working at the city golf course would be ideal.

Not all the jobs are seasonal.  Also listed on the Grand Junction city job site are full-time positions for Police Officers and a Project Engineer.
