Two guys decided paying for their gas with a check from a closed account was the best way to get an extra discount on fuel without using any value points.

The bogus check was used to purchase fuel at the 24 Road City Market fuel center the afternoon of Thursday, January 14.

According to Crime Stoppers, a newer model white SUV pulled up to the pumps and while one man pumped gas, the other paid for it with the bad check.

Video surveillance indicates the suspect who used the bad check is approximately 25-45 years old with dark hair, mustache and goatee. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a leather jacket, bright blue shirt and sunglasses.

If you know the identity of the suspect pictured, or recognize the vehicle the suspects were driving, you're asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 241-7867.

Tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are anonymous. If that information leads to an arrest, you can earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
