With only five weeks remaining until spring, the countdown to the end of winter is underway. The inversion that gripped the Grand Valley is sinking farther and farther into the rear view mirror, and with daytime highs in the 30s and 40s, thoughts are turning more and more towards outdoor activities. Even golfers are beginning to head to the range to get practiced up for the start of the golf season, and  making plans for spring golf scrambles.

One of the more popular golf scrambles in the spring is for  Mesa County Partners. As you probably know, Partners works with at-risk youth, trying to make a difference in their lives through one-on-one mentoring, Youth Conservation Corps, Restitution, and an after school program. Proceeds from this golf event go directly to Partners to help them continue their mission that began over 35 years ago in Mesa County.

The annual Partners Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 26th at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction. Sponsorship opportunities are available and it’s not too early to register your four-person team, or just yourself if you don’t have a team. You can get more information by calling 241-1027 or visit the Partners website.

Participating in this golf scramble is great fun, but at the same time comes the satisfaction that you have  made an investment in the youth of our community.
