The Grand Junction Police are investigating a shooting that killed a man at 688 29 ½ Rd. that happened Wednesday (February 27) in the early morning hours. Apparently a father and his adult son got into an argument and the father shot the son, killing him. There was one other adult in the house and the police are not looking for any other suspects. No arrests have been announced at this time.

The Mesa County Coroner has released the identity and manner of death in this morning's shooting. Garth Byron Meier, a 48-year-old male resident of Grand Junction. The Cause of Death was a Gunshot Wound of the Chest and the Manner of Death was Homicide.

Grand Junction Police have not issued any news of an arrest. Any charges that may be field would be at the discretion of the State's Attorney's Office.
