I'm a hard-core fisherman but being from the mid-west it's been mostly with baitcasting and spinning tackle in my hands. I took up fly fishing, sort of, several years ago when I wanted a different challenge when I'd hit some of my favorite farm ponds. A couple pound bass on a popping bug is a lot of fun. Since moving here to Colorado I've been trying to get conformable again with a fly rod in my hand.

Some of the best fly fishing footage in the world is coming to The Avalon Theater this Friday as the Grand Valley Anglers chapter of Trout Unlimited host the International Fly Fishing Film Festival. Doors are set to open at 6:30, the films begin at 7:00 pm. I went last year and enjoyed every minute of it and looking forward to this Friday's event.

Tickets are on sale now at the Avalon Box Office or call or call 800-626-8497. There are tons of door prizes, raffles, and giveaways, Plus, two adult beverages are included with each ticket.
